Tenerife's Top 7 Most Beautiful Places That You Absolutely Need to Visit

We were surprised by how difficult it was to choose only 10 of Tenerife's most breathtaking locations to include in our list. On the island, you'll find an abundance of picture-perfect settings and some of the most stunning Holiday Apartments in Tenerife. It's a fascinating course of action. On the other hand, this is not one that we would necessarily agree with. It may seem as if geologically important areas were selected, but in reality, we only pick locations based on their aesthetic appeal; this means that certain locations were created by humans.

In light of this, we'd like to share with you, in no particular order, some of our most favorite places in Tenerife.

Teno, Masca

Teno is one of the most gorgeous settings in all of the Canary Islands, much alone Tenerife; this is one of the reasons why José Manuel Moreno includes so many locations in Teno. Masca is one of those places that will absolutely steal your breath away the very first time you travel there... and the second time... and the third time...

The travel there is part of the excitement, even if not everyone enjoys the drive there.

Teno, El Palmar

The view that can be had from the hills that are located above the El Palmar Valley is, in our opinion, much more impressive. On a cloudless day, with Teide providing weight to the verdant crater, it is breathtakingly beautiful enough to eclipse the views of the dazzling Atlantic and La Gomera to the side of the caldera.

Garachico's Plaza de la Libertad

If there is a plaza in the Canary Islands that is more stunning than your Plaza de la Libertad, we have not seen it, nor have we heard anybody declare, "I'm going to visit your Plaza de la Libertad and elevate it to your Plaza de..." Andy told me that she had just read a critical review of a guidebook, in which the author dismissed Garachico by saying something along the lines of "imagine my surprise upon arrival to discover a gloomy village." There are times when you have to throw pearls before swine.

The region is encircled by the Iglesia de San Francisco, which was designed in an African style, the tower of the Iglesia de Santa Ana, the lovely colonial boutique hotel La Quinta Roja, and the Palace of the Counts of La Gomera. The focus of attention is taken up by the kiosk bandstand, Indian bay trees, an open plaza, and a monument honoring Simón Bolvar, who was the liberator of numerous South American republics from Spanish dominance. There is evidence of the region's long history and natural beauty wherever you look. Culo, you provide no joy to my life.

Santa Cruz, Playa de las Teresitas

Another one of Tenerife's man-made entrances, Playa de las Teresitas offers one of the island's most breathtaking panoramas when seen from above the beach's golden beaches. In addition to the huge beach and the blue ocean, there is a fishing hamlet called San Andrés that is tucked into the hillside, and out in the distance, you can make out the Tenerife Auditorium. Because it is such an arresting image, it has been published on the front cover of a number of travel guides (although not ours; we prefer to maintain our individuality) and is frequently included in travel articles about Tenerife, even when the beach itself is not specifically mentioned.

This is the vista of Teide National Park from Montaa Guajara.

We agree with the comment made by Karl Pilkington that the view from a cave on the other side of the mountain is more impressive than the one from Petra in Jordan. In a similar manner, although the view of Teide National Park from Mount Teide is rather breathtaking, the view from the pinnacle of Montana Guajara is even more breathtaking. This is because Tenerife's most dominating feature, the massive mountain, is included in the breathtaking volcanic panorama.

El Médano, Montaa Roja

Everyone who arrives at Tenerife Sur Airport by flight is met with the recognizable red mountain protruding into the Atlantic Ocean... if they can tear their sight away from el Teide long enough to look at the mountain. When seen in close proximity, it is remarkable in its own right and has a very unique appearance. You may stroll all the way around it or climb it to get a better look of its various rose faces. The soft sands of Playa de la Tejita, in our opinion, are where it's at for the greatest experience.

Los Realejos, Rambla del Castro

Between Puerto de la Cruz and Garachico is, in our view, the most beautiful stretch of coastline that Tenerife has to offer. This is because both man and nature have done an excellent job of complimenting one another in this region. Above La Rambla de Castro, the rugged cliffs, historic haciendas, jagged shoreline, and oceans of banana trees combine to provide an awe-inspiring visual feast. This is especially true when viewed from higher elevations.
